Boy, excellent points Brooke! I too miss John in the stream of things.

Speaking of missing things and people, do you think if we all sent Donald Sew a big hello he would feel a little better, and try to break his misery, and come back and help with the market forecasting?

Don we all MISS you and your commentary! We understand your grief, but believe me we all must live on! So Please feel better and come back to work. Pleeze?

Lee, if he doesn't read this would you pls forward it?

duh...Justice Dept Opens Enron Criminal Probe

Wednesday January 9, 8:02 pm Eastern Time

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Justice Department has opened a criminal investigation of fallen
energy giant Enron Corp., department officials said on Wednesday.

Officials would not say when exactly the investigation began but said it was centered within the
department's criminal division and that a task force was being established to handle the case.

Once the world's largest energy trading firm, the company went in a few short weeks from Wall
Street star to making the largest bankruptcy filing in U.S. history on Dec. 2.

Its downfall threw thousands out of work and destroyed billions of dollars in investor equity.

Enron is also the subject of congressional investigations, and probes by the Securities and
Exchange Commission and the Labor Department.

The decision to move to a full fledged criminal investigation came after weeks of examining
whether such a probe was warranted, officials said.

They were unable to say whether any charges would ever result from the investigation. ROFL

The task force is expected to include federal prosecutors from Houston, where Enron is based, as
well as New York and San Francisco. Also on the task force will be members of the Justice
Department's fraud section.
