I tried the second hot link in your message. Got a
black page with a message saying this page isn't here.
What was I intended to get. It makes me nervous when
something like that happens because viruses/trojans/
worms can now be spread from accessing web sites.

It's a tongue in cheek page, you have to s..l..o..w..l..y read the message that comes up.

If you don't, you won't miss anything.

Having said that, make sure your firewall is constantly updated. As you point out, you can never be too careful.
