Dudley's attempt to downplay his role in the rise in the 1996 FONX stock price.

"However, we've learned along the way that some of our shareholders bought when the stock was running wild on the Motley Fool Forum, or bought because Alan Ashton, the cofounder of Word Perfect made an investment in Fonix, some 4 or 5 years ago. Some shareholders are still with us today that bought because insider stock was in a lock up to fifteen dollars a share, and only bought on that reason."
