Well, being a world trade proponent and seeing the long term benefits of NAFTA, I supported the bail out and was surprised to see Republican opposition, I expected opposition from the Democrats. I felt that Clinton really demonstrated objectiveness and progressiveness in the whole fiasco. The thing that I find most interesting was that Mexico paid the loan off in advance, with a 500 million profit for the US. Of course all the righty shows ie Limbaugh etc never even acknowledged a job well done by the Admin.

What was mistaken about my post? Clinton forged the bail out package without congressional support and congress was controlled by the Republicans at that time both sides.
