Hi DJ, my thoughts, FWIW, presumably approximating the value of a cup of coffee, less the cup and minus the coffee, on the matter of Baldur Fjölnisson, AC Flyer, et cetera, ad … oh you know … and so forth, are as follows:

(a) I was upset at the onset on being distracted by a pile of virtual newspaper held in front of my eyes, and forced to wade through the lot to get at real live virtual airport lounging people’s thoughts;

(b) I thought about decamping BBR and move to one of the many moderated threads that sprang from this arguably original and indisputably fine liming place (that be, apparently, or so I was told, Trinidadian speak for hanging out and chatting);

(c) Then I thought, wait a minute, why should I be forced to move? And on the flip side, why should BF be hounded into silence? BF and AC are making their points, each in their own way, on a public thread, and in fact, the energy generated from the friction is not altogether pointless, and is, in fact, somewhat entertaining;

(d) So I thought about and, OK, rationalized, what freedom of expression, exchange of ideas, and cultural interchange really mean, and concluded, at least at this point, we, in the aggregate, are doing just fine, to the point that I still am not considering the so-far-never used Ignore function;

(e) I do not agree entirely with BF’s message nor the consequences if it all turns out to be true, given that I believe an unwinding is necessary, is in process, still early days, will conclude, soft or hard landing, or without landing gears entirely, and a new dawn will happen;

(f) I do not agree with entirely of AC’s message, except for the portions I do agree with, such as the last sentence of this post Message 16894127 <<The 21st century belongs to the US and China. The rest of the world is a sideshow>>; do not about how, good or bad. The DOW at 30,000 within the next ten years is alarming, and if I believe it true, I should be buying gold. Oops, I am buying gold:0) AC’s message of patriotism is not applicable to me, in that my country of nationality/origin is exceeding small, genetic grouping confused, country of birth do not much care for me, and I live on a rock, or rather Freedom Rock, per AC’s post Message 16894189 that is ranked 1st amongst all, bar none, but deflating into the virtual world fast;

(g) While I am at it agreeing with everybody, I strongly agree with Carranza2’s <<The answer, presumably, is to be a contrarian>> in post Message 16896057 and he would do well if he follows own advice (or was it a rhetorical question?)

Chugs, Jay

P.S. <<with the side-effect, that I was not served any more the information Jay had paid for to read>> Now and then, when something ‘really’ interesting (to me) appears in a subscribed to source, I still post it, as a public service to fellow travelers, much as I tend to leave my own newspapers neatly folded and properly placed at airport lounge tables, in case someone is interested.

P.P.S. No, I did not speculate on the possible link between Baldur’s style and the long dusky morning and longer moonless nights that is currently in fashion in Iceland, and I also did not guess at AC Flyer’s portfolio position weighting relative to, say, 100% cash.
