It's generally conceded that Carter is a better Ex-President than he was a President. Although we might have to rethink that assessment in light of some of the irresponsible bone headed comments he's made about Bush (some of which he apologized for BTW.)

Carter looks and acts like a fool, just as he always did in office. He should have built those shacks and slums INSTEAD of running for president...

Remember Canadian-owned Barrick Gold Corp. sent its "trophy" director Bush Sr. to Indonesia to suck-up to the dictator Suharto so the senior gold miner could get its fingers into Bre-X Minerals' Busang gold deposit, which turned out to be a fraud.
Carter was Clinton's emissary to Haiti, and it was his negotiations that led to a peaceful transition of power in that country. Remember, no loss of America life, that's got to count for something.

Bush leaves and builds guns and weapons and peddles them himself
Bush Sr. left himself a ready made enemy that would require the guns. It makes you wonder what planning went into the formation of Carlyle a dozen years ago.
