I was talking about the latter, but you can essentially consider both. AMD will have implementation problems getting x86-64 to work flawlessly with the rest of their CPU design, and software writers will have similar problems dealing with the subtleties of an AMD implementation. Though, most software developers won't even bother. wbmw
