you wrote that the drop in ENE shares occurred when Lay mentioned the 1.2B write off in a cc. and that "This was all after October 10th (probably a week and half after but I'm not checking on the cc)" Exactly my point that the spiral started after the Lay/Cheney Oct 10 meeting. And I'm certain that it came as no epiphany to Lay that things were really, really bad. The fact his pronouncement came on the heels of his final meeting w/ Cheney struck me as suspicious.

Stranger things have happened than the entire blame for Enron's demise being heaped upon the head of its CFO. We'll see.
