Many market participants have decided that a weaker yen is here to stay. Mr. MacKinnon predicted the dollar would soon rise to ¥140.

Strategists at BNP Paribas SA expect the dollar to reach ¥145. Some analysts think a much sharper rise - to ¥160 or even ¥200 - cannot be ruled out.
