The point of the story is that the Administration refused to bail Enron out......

How convenient for you to forget that Cheney has refused to turn over records of secret meetings. You castigate Clinton for such meetings, but for Bush and Cheney it is okay. Talk about being a hypocrite!

Actually, one of many points -- and the one that

....is most damning and incriminating -- is that the Bush family ...

... and friends they 'favored' used ENE money and connections to change energy regulation laws that set up all 'well connected' insiders to make millions ... or billions ... of dollars. Without the ENE influence on 'policy makers' that most recently include Wendy Gramm who sits on the board of directors, ENE would have never been much of a company. Just another utility.

Beginning 'way back in the early 90s.
