WBMW, good point. If AMD thinks MHz doesn't matter, why are they trying so hard to make their "QuantiSpeed" ratings look like MHz?

wbmw, Your assumption may be correct but when did they say that? I recall them saying that some 3rd party audits their ratings but they did not divulge what they are. I guess the fact that they are ratings and not mere model numbers implies that they are ratings according to some existing unit of measurement ( like Mhz ), in this case I see your point. That's why I had suggested here long time ago to abandon those things and go to models like auto manufacturers do. Would you have had a problem with that?

AMD wants people to believe that an Athlon XP 2000+ gives you the performance of a 2.0GHz Pentium 4, or better.

But Wanda, why shouldn't people believe that? By all indications, it correlates quite well with reality.
