*OT* Yes, an interesting read. What scared me most was the beginning...
"Enron had the best brains that money could buy..." Isn't that how the story about LTCM also started. Maybe we should find dumb people to manage big money. -gggg-

JRI - Agree that both parties do bad things. I just feel that many go after the Republicans a little more aggressively for less obvious stuff and fail to give credit where credit is due. However I know Nixon wasn't a crook -gg- I do disagree with most people though about the whole Oliver North thing. That stuff goes on every day and in every administration. Our defense is made up of secret deals, covert operations and we probably still do assassinations but are just better at hiding them. Oliver North was the fall guy for an operation that got sloppy. Do people really think it was a coincidence that all of the world's problems seemed to go away when Bush Sr was in office and that he was an old CIA chief? Wake up America, he called in old favors and knew how to make things happen out of the press. If you are ever in South East Asia, count how many American looking aircraft with no markings fly over sometime even now. Do you really think we pay $200 bucks for a hammer or a toilet seat? You have to finance all those black ops somehow. People just want to not know and make belive that only foreign countries do bad things. The difference is are we doing bad things to make one person rich or are we doing it for the good of the country as a whole. Better to do things like this and nip things in the bud than wait until they get real ugly and we have to use a few hundred thousand troops in a stand up fire fight.

davidd - Sorry for jumping hard but I just finished the Boom Boom thread and was primed and ready trying to bite my tongue before I came here and saw the same discussion starting up.

I actually am not for either party and vote the man and the cabinet of lesser evils. Still, I just think that trying to tie this administration to ENE for other than energy dealings is a bit premature. As I said, I would have been surprised to not see them having dealings with ENE. AS long as they weren't having anything to do with the financing shenanigans, then who cares?

sun-tzu - Hey without morons, we couldn't spin MU's story about zero growth into a 70 PE. To da moooooooon!!!

Good Luck,

Lee
