INDONESIA'S INFOASIA SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH LOCKHEED MARTIN

JAKARTA - Indonesia's Infoasia Group, an information technology company, has signed a cooperation agreement with US-based Lockheed Martin.

Infoasia's management said the agreement is aimed at developing a Vessel Monitoring System [UMS] in Indonesia, and supporting development of the country's fishery sector.

CHINA GOVT TO SPEND US$96.4 MLN ON INDUSTRIAL COMPUTER UPGRADES

BEIJING - Minister of Science and Technology Xu Guanhua said his ministry plans to allocate 800 million yuan (US$96.4 million) to encourage and promote computerization in traditional industries.


While developing new areas of economic growth in high tech industries, the country should also help traditional sectors improve productivity by keeping up with new technology, Xu said.

ORACLE JAPAN TO CUT PRICES ON KEY DATABASE OFFERINGS

TOKYO - Oracle Corp Japan (TSE:4716) said Thursday that it will lower licensing fees for its main database products by up to 48 per cent starting in February.

The company is responding to price cuts by competitors such as IBM Japan Ltd. and Microsoft Co., as well as to demand from some customers for lower prices. Oracle last cut prices in July.

SINGAPORE'S ACE DYNAMICS SELLS ITS 51 PCT STAKE IN OMNIDISC MANUFACTURING

SINGAPORE - Ace Dynamics Limited (SGX: ADL) announced that it has disposed of its 51 per cent stake in Omnidisc Manufacturing Pte Ltd to Omnistar Corporation Pte Ltd for S$1,909,589 (US$1,036,933).
