Xilinx price assumes V recovery: Lehman Analyst Dan Niles at Lehman Bros. believes Xilinx (XLNX) will report fiscal third-quarter revenue that is "slightly better" than expectations, and will forecast modest growth in its fourth quarter. "Although bookings seemed to reach a bottom in December, March guidance probably remains conservative given the outlook for a slow recovery," Niles said in a note to clients. He believes the stock's current valuation does not assume a slow recovery, however, but a V-shaped recovery. Analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial/First Call are currently expecting revenue of $212.5 million for the third quarter and $217.3 million for the fourth. He added that Xilinx trades at a premium to rival Altera (ALTR) , creating "an interesting arbitrage opportunity." Xilinx closed Thursday down 53 cents at $44.01 and Altera fell 40 cents to $24.89.
