(COMTEX) B: PPI falls for third month WASHINGTON, Jan 11, 2002 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- The Labor Department said Friday the producer price index, a key measure of inflation at the wholesale level, posted its third consecutive monthly decline during December. The government agency said the PPI fell 0.7 percent during the final month of 2001. Economists on Wall Street were expecting a 0.1 percent decline.
