And there was a development reminiscent of Clinton's Whitewater: missing documents. In Whitewater they where the Clinton's documents that where missing. In the Enron case it is Enron documents that are missing. Bush was not a business partner with Enron. I'm sure you can see the difference. Two administrations, two impeachments in a row. There hasn't even been a specific credible allegation of any wrong doing by Bush. The only connection seems to be the Enron officials have talked to Bush and Cheney and gave them campaign contributions. It has not even been proved that the ENE people where committing crimes but if they where there is no visible connection to Bush. If receiving campaign funds from these people is a crime I guess Daschle has to go to. I understand that in addition to receiving campaign money from ENE officers (which is not a crime or a ethics violation) Daschle's wife worked as a consultant for the airlines while the airline bailout bills was going through Congress. That seems to be a conflict of interest to me. But it is not a big enough one to throw Daschle out, if Bush had been involved in something similar it would be much worse then this ENE thing but still would not deserve impeachment in my opinion.
