So Ford is cutting the Escort from their lineup

<<It said it would cut North American production capacity by 16 percent, to 4.8 million vehicles from 5.7 million vehicles, and cut four vehicles -- the Ford Escort, the Mercury Cougar, the Mercury Villager and the Lincoln Continental -- from its lineup. >>

Wasn't the Escort the best selling car in the world when I was a kid (early-mid 1980s), back when people cared about fuel efficiency?

Since Ford hasn't gotten where they are through sound decision making and accurately predicting the future, what might we divine about the long-term direction of oil prices from this decision?

Cheers
