Caxton,

If you are truly being serious, then where's the fire?

If WCDMA is late, its late. I use a TDMA phone and can place calls.

Hypothetically speaking, of course, there is little need for US TDMA/GSM providers to upgrade to 3G. One reason that I can think of why they would need it TODAY is if their networks are close to capacity. I believe that their networks are not close to being fully utilized. That could also change within the next 2 to 3 years, hence WCDMA.

However, that QChat feature, I wonder if MOT is somewhat scared? Its unfortunate that Nextel chose to stay with MOT and iDEN. Just think of those economies of scale if Nextel chose to rip out their iDEN network. If VZ Wireless or Sprint PCS offers that service, that could hurt Nextel...

Oh well, may the strongest survive and pick the carcass of the weak....
