Marvin:

I don't think QCOM is going to light any fires short term. Europe is the short term catalyst, IMHO.

Once a firm date for deployment of WCDMA becomes generally recognized, or (and I think Ben has been following this) there is some reliable indication Europe is ready to crack and deploy CDMA 2000, then stock price could well launch.

Until then, China fills in earnings but apparently won't be enough to launch stock.

Curious your thoughts.

Pierre

Reading Thursday's IBD, I was ammused to read a comment bu an Airbuss official saying that Boeing had a lock on the US defense aircraft business whereas Airbus and Boeing were splitting the Civilian aircraft business. He went on to say that he hoped that in the future that Airbus wuuld be given a share if the US defense business because, US companies competing in Europe were given equal access just as were European companies.

What a hoot! Our experience in the wireless sector has been that there is no limit to what the European companies will do in order to keep US technology and competitors out of Europe. Look at the European Commission's successful effort to queer the GE/Honewell merger. Look at the resistqnce to using a working CDMA 3G technology. Look at the resistance to settion up CDMA 1X operators on the old European 450 MHz band in locations like Britain.

MB - The stock has been revalued downwards 25% in the last four weeks. This is Q's annual revaluation and it has just happened a little earlier this year than last year.

How about that price target drop to mid $50s....to a price that the stock was about ten days ago. That is like the Daisy Cutters it is designed to break morale.

The volume over the lasst ten days has been huge and must be saying something. I wonder if many funds unloaded in the last month. There are clearly better opportunities elsewhere
and so my guess is that many of them just got out, had enough of the story.

How about PCS and probably many others. Someone in the investment community knew about this when the stock started to collapse some four weeks ago.

Eventually it will stop its two year slide but now the market will want to see action and not stories. Hope is now out. This the now the Missouri market....show me.

Best,

L

MB -US Cellular - I just forgot didn't Q gain that unexpectedly only a couple of weeks ago? Surely they aren't in the numbers?

I thought we had quite a bit of good news recently which would have increased the numbers. So why all the downgrades. What else has gone wrong?

Best,

L
