C'mon, cut that farce.... There're more Jews in the US than in your "worthy, safe haven of last resort" Israel! (6 million vs 5 million). There're 550,000 Jews in France, about 90,000 in South Africa, even 100,000 in Germany! So, unless climate change turns all of the above countries into seas and swamps, I think European and American Jews are rather safe.... Ironically, Israel is the most unsecure place for Jews. So, if you Mr Lorne really care about Jews, petition your government to give the Jews a slice of the US territory --how about Miami Dade or Malibu? They'll miss Jerusalem' skyline? Heck, Donald Trump is ready to build a grandiose Jerusalem replica in Las Vegas!! <g>

In looking around in some history sites it appears to me that the Jews have been in this area for as long as the Arabs.

Yes, some Jews have been there, particularly in Jerusalem. This has nothing to do with Jews who weren't there. There have been Jews living continuously in Manhattan since it first became a semblance of a city 200 years ago, but of course this does not give Russian Jews any claim over that land.

And also the Jews have been run off their lands or slaughtered by the Arab countries for as long as history goes back

No. In fact, it is quite the opposite. The Middle East has always been a haven for Jews. Islam has a track record of tolerating Jews, unlike Christianity. This is because Islam specifically addresses both Christianity and Judaism, embracing both of their stories and beliefs, unlike the Talmud, which is full of hatred of Christians and Christianity. The advent of Zionism, with its expressed policy of ethnically cleansing Eretz Israel of Arabs, changed the tenor of Arab-Jewish relations drastically.

so it kind of looks like its a hatred thing more than any other reason. So is this hatred thing still going on to-day? Anyway it appears to me that over time the Jews were finally forced into the area which is now the state of Israel and this looks like a last stand, they are not going to be pushed any further.

The hatred of Jews that spurred on Zionism emanated 100% from Europe. Bear in mind Zionism's motivation was two-pronged - Gentile hatred of Jews and Jewish hatred of Gentiles. As such, Zionism was not very popular at first, because most Jews were very happy with the Emancipation. The Emancipation freed them from Gentile restrictions, but it also freed them from the yoke of their own repressive rabbis. Zionism was popular with extreme anti-Semites and with extreme Jewish chauvinists.

The fact that this can be happening without backlash is evidence that the hatred thing you speak of is a myth.

its like the Arabs have said that the Jews must be pushed into the sea.

Do you have a source for this? I have heard Jews state this repeatedly, never with a source. It is a remarkable reversal of truth, since Jews were the ones who initiated a policy of ethnic cleansing, at a time when Jews and Arabs were living in harmony.
