One of my friends worked at Exodus...got laid off a few months ago. His peak net worth was over $27,000,000, he won't discuss how much he cashed out of. Another friend that worked there, real low level guy not making more than $40k per year had a peak net worth of over $2,000,000, he didn't cash a cent out.

At Worldcom, one of my good friends worked there for 6 years, accumulated about $700k in options, excersized and held. Had to pay the taxes so he had to sell the rest of the stock and go back in his pocket to settle up.

Then there is this guy I know that owns a retail clothes shop, he made $75k per year in 1996. In 2001 he still makes $75k. He's pretty happy overall, doesn't seem that stressed out.
