WHAM. That's when a really stupid mistake is going to whack you upside the head and turn a great day into a nightmare. Because you THINK you know what you are doing. So I want to never think that, and always remember the power of the market and how it can ruin me if I think I'm right and stick to the wrong opinion. I just was talking to the trader at the trading desk in Chicago. He told me he put himself on hold trading for a few days after giving up a chunk of $ the past few days. And he works on the trading desk! And said this market has been really tough to trade. So even the most experienced traders can blow up. Teresa Lo blew up her account twice and had to get a full time job to save trading capital for awhile before she could trade again. And her biggest priority as a trader is always capital preservation. So staying humble and managing the capital and not gambling is SO critical. It's the fastest way to lose on earth, from what I've traded at least. Now for today's ending <vbg> At 3:50 when I had a buy stop in at 1641.50 for 2 contracts and my finger on the trigger to sell the other two at market cause it was rising to about 1643, my internet access crapped out. TOTALLY! Couldn't sign on, had no charts and by coincidence or not, the cable went out too <g> No nas ticker! And the market closing for the weekend in 20 minutes, NO Way to get out till Monday am. So I picked up the phone and called the trading desk, and while I was talking to him my buy stop on two got hit and I gave him a market order for the other two and the went at 39.5, better than I thought. But since the market was moving up, and I had no sell stops on em, it could have raced up 20 points at the close and bye bye profits. Thank goodness the phone was ok. All because of my internet access. SBC, who I am short because they have put me through COMPLETE hell with my DSL this past month, and promised me daily it would be back on within days. A month later, they turn it back on. When? At 3:50 pm. So that's what knocked out my dialup <g> Jeez what a day! Great calls by everyone, this thread is rockin lately! Lee you brought it back to life! BTW, has any noticed that the SI spellchecker STILL does not recognize the word INTERNET?? ROFLMAO
