The Durons fill the same function as the Celeron, it is the low end chip. I would guess this is why AMD is talking about farming Durons out to UMC. That way they can contract for what they have orders for, and then they don't have to dedicate fab space for it.

How large is the Duron on .18um Al? It should be very small on a .13um UMC process (< 75mm2??) I think it should reach at least 1.8GHz on the .13um UMC process which should make it very competitive relative to Tualitan which I doubt will reach past 1.5GHz.
