wbmw, you are way off on this one. No one is arguing that Intel is probably the best in the semi industry when it comes to supporting its customers. All I am saying is that AMD is considered a semi powerhouse ( even though it's tiny compared to Intel ). It's also a very well regarded company. Gone are the days when AMD was a little cloner. Sorry.

Beamer - Re: ". AMD is pushing their market share gains without growing as a company. It's simply not sustainable."

Excellent point.

Moreover, AMD is actually SHRINKING as a company.

They sold off their programmable logic division - Vantas.

They sold off their communications division - Legerity.

They just shut down 2 wafer fabs.

They laid off 25% of their work force.

The SOLD their headquarters building to generate cash - and now they have to live in rented buildings.

Jerry's Chauffeur did not get laid off.

Jerry's Limousine did not get sold.

Jerry withdrew $2,000,000 of shareholder money and gave it away - to his alma mater !
