Okay, I agree it's arguing the finer points, so I'll drop it. <As far as history goes, this was one of the more pleasant chapters. If you don't like the fact that the US is the big kid on the block, well, you can take us on, or you can go find another block to live on. > It was indeed very pleasant compared with comparable conflicts. Actually, I don't mind the USA being the biggest gorilla in town [beats the other options at the moment]. That's why I support the USA with my investments and taxes. I actually own the USA! Americans are working for me. That's the nature of the modern world. It's intertwined. If they don't like working for me, they can get another job. Sure, Americans have a vote on how to spend the tax money and I don't, but as long as they vote to do what I want, they can keep voting on my behalf on how to spend it. I'm happy to fund Osama and the Taleban being dealt with. I'm happy to pay for the SEC, police, judiciary, roads and stuff. I like the Hubble telescope, the man on the moon, I'm not sure about the space station, but it's probably okay since there are comets to be dealt with sometime and that'll help. I like USS Enterprise and its ability to give pause to Jiang Zemin when he turns his gaze to Taiwan. But I'm not too happy with the US$, though I agree with GeorgeW that Uncle Al has done a sterling job. I'm also getting the UN revamped to get some sensible supranational rules for the village so the MAD stuff disappears into the darkness of history. The USA isn't suitable as some unconstitutional neighbourhood ruler with aliens being second class citizens. We need some international constitution a bit more reflective of the principles applied to people in the USA. The many billions of we aliens won't like to be treated as cotton pickers for da boss. As you say, if we don't like it, we can get another block. There are way over 5 billion of us and only 300 million Americans, so we'll probably be able to cope. The idea of Uncle Al printing $$ billions and USA voters owning it might not be suitable if the voters go stupid, so I think the rest of the world had better get another currency not subject to the whims of Americans and their politicians. Not the euro, which is out of the frying pan, into the fire. I mean the Q, a cybercurrency being shares in many companies around the world. Mq
