With a price delta like that, you could have one part at one distributor and 25 shops offering to sell it.

When a part is priced that high, it's been priced to stay available and to not sell. Given that the value of today's high speed CPU is almost as fleeting as that of an airline seat, they would price these things to sell if could get ahold of any volume.
