I've read both of those links. That's a line I think W has the right to walk. There is nothing really unethical regarding his statements. He is actually quite savvy.

Besides, people act like Bush is in Enron's pocket with lifetime contributions of $550,000.

Bush spent $54,000,000 just getting the Republican nomination. $550,000 is pocket-change. Hell, John Hwong raises $550,000 in 2 coffee parties for Bill C. And he actually saw a return on his investment. (please refer to Loral Corp for details)

The major trump card in this whole thing is that W and his administration turned their backs on Enron.
