Not only did He live a sinless life, which is impossible for us to do, but he laid that life down as an atoning sacrifice for our un righteousness.>> ....simply shunning evil. Christ subjugated the Hells and restored perfect order here on earth so that a direct conjunction between Heaven and Earth could be realized by mankind. There is no "free ride" in the sense that we can go ahead and continue sinning, etc. Removing ourselves from sin requires our cooperation with Him to come into our minds, hearts and souls in this continuing process which begins with repentance and leads to transformation, regeneration and restoration of His perfect will as it works and expresses itself through us each day. None of this "process" involves the individual claiming to create ONE thing for all the credit goes directly to our Lord. And since Christ's return and the completion of His work there is no longer any requirement for mediators which propagate the illusion/lie of vicarious spiritual and moral experience. The New Church simply becomes "a willing and humble individual with an open and willing mind, heart and soul" which can receive these simple truths that already exist. Emanuel Swedenborg was caused to write a staggering body of material in the last 29 years of his life (27 works in all are covered during this period). If you read closely you will refreshingly discover that he made ZERO/NO personal claims to being "a source" or "the source." He gives ALL credit to where it is due - ie. to our one Lord God in Heaven Jesus Christ. Sure our Lord Jesus Christ completed his work, but he also has much energy, light and Love to express through each one of us. But this requires that we cooperate by shunning evil and allowing Christ to enter our minds, hearts and souls to do His work at restoring His order, His Light, His Energy and His Love in our lives. This requies that we give Him ALL credit for ALL good and truth which mankind can only receive directly from Him. But don't take my or anyone else's word for this. This is something you and every individual is free to receive and understand and share with others. For FREEDOM of and individual liberty are the touchstones that ultimately will lead to connecting everyone to His Love. 119293!!
