I don't have to like the guy to stick up for his rights (and believe me, I don't). The question is, ...did he know enough about Christianity or Islam to realize the magnitude of his statement? I don't know if he does or not, ...therefore, ...idiots have rights too.

LOL. Appears to me that you are experiencing some sort of 'enigma' going on in your own mind regarding the 'matter' -- -g- rather, the U.S. constitutional right -- of the meaning freedom of speech, 'enigma.'

As in, "speech can be made only by those who maintain -- voluntarily -- thoughts and remarks that might be offensive to someone."
