AMD's server chipset has trouble "seeing" some older USB devices like game controllers.

Intel's mass market chipsets - every one that supports P4 - blow up if an older video card is plugged into them.

I think servers not working with old game controllers is less of a problem than having 100% of the systems using your new mainstream platform self-destruct with older video cards.
