Are there guided tours in the eco-forests?
There probably are guides available and if not at least you could probably get a local Tico to do the job for a few dollars. You would probably also do OK on your own with the literature that you can get at the site.

He also recommended a trip to Guanacaste to see many waterfalls and great beaches. Don't know where place is in relation to resort.

Guanacaste is the province that you are in at your resort.

Wait until you get there and you'll see where all the beaches and resorts are and can go from there easily on day trips.

Also, do you require inoculations before flying to Costa Rica?
No...unless you are going to spend a lot of time in the jungles (and it appears you aren't), then I don't feel you need innoculation. Just my opinion.

Given your very short schedule, I'd recommend just visiting around your local area ( your hotel will offer lots of local excursions) and maybe do one overnight trip that would include the village of Saarchi (wood crafts village, famous in Costa Rica) and Arenal Volcano. The drive and visiting the little towns on the way will make for a very scenic and interesting trip. You could do this in one very LARGE day. Unless you're experienced, the driving will be imposing at times.

Remember, you are only going to see a small part of Costa Rica. It took us about 8 weeks to feel we really saw most of it, and we travelled lots, not stationary at a resort.
