tip, i meant the call of the nasdaq crashing was easy because greenspan stopped printing and put on the brakes. it was an accident waiting to happen and we don't need to debate the reasons for the asset bubble.

Yeah... It crashed because the quarter after Y2K was probably the "safest time ever" to be invested. The world came through the Y2K turn unscathed, and hi tech profits were soaring beyond belief. The '98 & '99 market debacles had been overcome, and the Naz looked sexy at 5000, with p/e's justifiable if current growth rates were extrapolated to infinity. Everybody who could, bought it. MM's were then pushed short, and bada-bing, surprise surprise.. they win again and John Q. Pubic loses... for the 1,000th time in a row.
