A fatal exceptionOE has occurred at 0028: c0005257 in VXD VMM(01) + 00004257. The current application will be terminated.

This error message has been caused in the past by incompatible RAM memory, specifically the 128MB chips. If this is the case, it could be that the speed is incorrect, as in putting PC100 chips in PC133 slots. Or caused by mixing different types of RAM or purely a timing issue with different design RAM chips This problems has also been reported if a program you have installed has Updat_cd.com loaded at Startup. To rectify this, restart the pc and press F8 to get the start up menu, choose command prompt only. At the command prompt, type the following commands, pressing ENTER after each command: cd windowsedit winstart.bat Disable the following line in the Winstart.bat file by typing "rem" (without quotation marks), and then pressing SPACEBAR at the beginning of the line: c:\windows\updat_cd.com c:\cd.sav Press ALT+F, press S (to save), press ALT+F, and then press X (to exit). Restart your computer normally.

This link seems to indicate it may relate to an AMD chip .
