WLD referenced an individual investor's need to believe

For a number of people I interact with on a daily basis "need to believe" is true in the sense that French soldiers expressed a "need to believe" in Joan of Arc: blinkered faith based on desperate need. The market going up or down has taken on the significance of a religious event for these people.

Frankly, it scares the p*ss out of me.
