When using a single processor, you might be justified in your logic. However, a server builder such as yourself ought to have some concept of scalability, and large caches definitely help in this area. 4 Foster processors will have much more processing power than any dual Athlon system can achieve. Another selling feature, of course, would be the greater levels of stability and uptime that chipset manufacturers build around 4-way platforms.
