Lonnie,

I would not pay IB $79 for level II. On the occasions IB has problems, bad quotes are usually the first indication. I would spend that extra money on another quote service to give yourself a backup. IB's order routing system is independent of their quotes (though order entry is most efficient when IB's quotes are reliable), and is more robust than the quote service. You can almost always place a trade if you have independent quotes to tell you when and where to send your orders.

No surprise fees with IB. What they state is what you pay.

Dan

Lonnie - Stay away from Datek. They are intermittently experiencing awful access problems. For that reason I am in the process of shifting my accounts to IB. The intelligence and helpfulness of this thread were major motivations, also. - Mike
