>Why is it that only a few AMDroids have great success with AthWiper PCs and constant problems with Dells?

My experiences are actually similar, but then again, most of the "Athwiper" PCs I've dealt with are built by me or by a local boxmaker who supports his products pretty well, and I've had numerous issues with Dell's tech support- their products don't seem to go bad much, it's just that when they do, I sometimes spend an hour on hold for tech support, which just, well, sucks.

>Dell isn't kicking everybody's ass around the block by selling junk.

Nope. Of course not. The average person has no idea when he or she has bought "junk", so it doesn't really matter. Dell's been kicking ass because of ad dollars very well spent, some fabulous TV commercials ("Dude, you're getting a Dell"- great stuff!), and price. Also, when they started, their tech support was pretty darn good, and though it's pretty sucky now, they're still riding that old reputation.

"Dell isn't kicking everybody's ass around the block by selling junk. "

I cannot say about others, but the systems I have built, the ones at home, have vastly outperformed the ones I have suffered with at work, i.e. Dells. Both in outright performance and reliability. Now it may be that the uses that the others are much worse than Dell, I personally cannot vouch for that. Or it may be that the i820 was a major piece of crap. All I can tell you is what I have experienced...
