Not really that familiar with Rogers myself, especially since he has been globe-trotting for three solid years. I have seen him on CNBC once or twice before. And I did see in one article where he stated:
"...The US was in a bear market in 1998, 1999 and 2000. If you look at the stocks that went up and the number that went down every year, it was very clearly in a bear market. Some of the averages stayed up because of certain stocks but the great bulk of stocks were going down for those three years."...

So he probably called the bear market early. So I guess he was probably fundamentally right but his timing was off... But I was more interested in his world political views. And I really have to respect a guy that is a multi-millionaire from the "Wall Street world", and who decided to get "down and dirty" in some of the most hostile and poverty stricken areas of the world in order to experience it first hand and literally put his and his wife's life at risk to do so.
