Here is Arafat's Nobel Prize site bio, which says he was born in Cairo. But it's an embarrassment for the PLO leader to be born in Egypt, so the story has become "disputed". I don't know for sure that Arafat has NO blood ties at all to the Husseinis. I just know that if he really had a good claim on old Jerusalem bloodlines we would have heard about it, up front and out loud, for many years. Istead we get these rumors and sotto voce claims of relationship.
