Thanks Kaka,

Please let me know how you make out. The technician did tell me I could use that upgrade version of XP as a brand new installation of XP but that if I did that I would lose everything on my computer. I would have to have all my files backed up (which isn't a bad idea) and then to transfer everything back over after the installation. You probably had guessed by now that I'm no techie and I didn't want to do that. So I will buy the upgrade from Dell tomorrow.
