So, it is one of them words that only is ok to use if you are of that ethnicity? Only Pakistani's can call themselves Paki's? So, when Pakistan's soccer team plays, they can no longer hold up banners that read "Paki Power", because the dictionary says so? Pakistan means clean land. And since Paki means clean, what is offensive about it? Is it offensive to call people from Turkey Turks? And, no the dictionary is not infallible. For instance, For five years, Webster's New International Dictionary mistakenly included an entry for dord, a word which did not exist. snopes2.com Most dictionaries do say the term is British, so when the Brits talk about fags, is that offensive? No, they are talking about cigarrettes. Anyway, the position is not absurd to note that Pakistani's use the term themselves.
