The max pain point seems to remain stable throughout the life of the options though I haven't studied this in a scientific fashion. This will be interesting to do. I use max pain to help decide a couple of months prior to expiration whether to roll out of a covered call position or to let it expire. In other words, what are the chances I will get exercised out of my underlying?
