ST - Trading FWIW, Finally covering my January 3rd AMAT short this morning cost me some money, as I ended up taking a $5,450 loss on the play (my one and only AMAT play this year). Ouch! Hopefully I'll have some future gains to offset this initial hit. I would have probably held the position longer if Intel wasn't about to report tomorrow. I don't feel comfortable with what they might say with regards to 2002 capex. I think it could go either way, but if they come out with a reasonable forecast and a $7B capex number, the SCE's could get a short term boost. After being down as much as $21K with this play, I felt it best to take my medicine and move to the sidelines in advance of the report. While my gut is telling me AMAT has more downside ahead, I thought it best to bail now and reposition later. In any case, there's always another play to be made. Now I'm off to wash the blood off my devil's mask. <g> Congrats to the bulls!
