That's a good question <g>. The description is unclear.
By analogy with A7V266 board, the optional device
is a SmartCard reader.

One of our Canadian banks (not sure which one) has just introduced a Visa (American Express) that has a smart chip on it and I believe SmartCard readers will be available soon for online transactions.

Sure wish I had the heads up on which companies were providing what and by what standards the financial/technical community were settling on.
