Since the NEM/NDY/FN offer, there seems to be little relationship between NEM stock and the gold price. At current bullion prices, NEM would normally be closer to $25 than $20. Too many other factors involved. AU seems to be doing well, but I think most have assumed they have lost the bid.

Gold Fields (GOLD) and Harmony (HGMCY) hit new 52 week highs today.
Durban (DROOY) hit its 52 week high on Friday, but is down a bit today.

The weak rand should continue to help these miners reduce costs and increase profits. Of course this probably means with better economics RSA gold production has probably hit bottom near 420mt and may now go flat or even turn up a bit ? (back to my macroeconomic theory that worldwide gold production isn't going to go down as everyone keeps predicting)
