Hey, there was nothing terribly wrong about growing up in D.C. in the 70's. Yes, the schools did suck, but I didn't know it at the time. A few fights a week, a couple of gun shootings a month, but it was mostly just chucking and jiving around the basketball courts after school. I could play (yes a white man in a black mans world) so I had lots of friends. It wasn't until many years later that I discovered the place wasn't the safest in the world to live. Of course, being dominated by Democrats for so many years, has caused a lot of things to decline since then.
