RE: dot.coms and accounting techniques. I wondered that myself especially since the bottom line figures were usually based pie in the sky future projections. However, I think Enron, with its energy selling, was more a bricks and mortar company with some major charlatans steering that boat into oblivion. I'm one of those who didn't know the BBC is leftist.
