Let me clear this up a bit.

First JDN made this comment: Best thing that could happen to America would be to lose these leaders of the Democratic Party, they are UNAMERICAN in all ways. Party loyalty, thats all they know. JDN

Your response was this It sounds like you would you like to go to a one party system? Now, that is really unAmerican. The ability to criticize and disagree with our leaders without fear of retribution is one of the main foundations and freedoms in this country. Take that away and we are no better than some banana republic, IMO.

The first assumption you appear to be making is that anyone who wants someone to lose an election automatically believes that person has no right to disagree, or criticize others in power. False assumption.

The second assumption you appear to be making is that if Democrats lose the election and we have Republicans win, we have somehow become unamerican. False assumption number two.

I then demonstrated how absurd these assumptions were by interjecting the following statement: When people are acting against the best interest of the nation they should be voted out. Just because someone disagrees doesn't mean they should be in power.
The Communist party disagrees with Republicans all the time. Shall we fear Republicans winning election from then as well?

Having disagreement from absurd (even unamerican people) is one thing, allowing absurd people to be elected to high office is an entirely different thing.

Tom Dashle's belief that tax cuts prolonged, exacerbated, or caused the recession is utterly absurd.

Has this cleared it up for you?
