Keith,

First you state that consumers are "capable" of performing the necessary research. Now, you state that consumers are "Joe Six Packs".

Which one is it.

Take a step back and let me paint a picture for you.

When I poll average people who have heard of "3G" services, what do you perceive they think of?

I believe they think of high bandwidth dataservices, i.e. streaming video and the like.

That is the "perception" of "3G" services and that is why, I believe, the differences between these phones having a "3G" label should be in writing, or perhaps a "2.5G", or 2.75G or whatever, label should be applied instead.

This will prevent any future liability Sprint and the handset vendor will have.
