Can not see how any player would want to do that. If they wanted to position long, they would not do that. Maybe they want to get short, so that take out the stop to get positioned, but it's risky. Nope, why would anybody buy 3,000-4,000 contracts at market?

Of course, the problem is now that there are no shorts in that 60 point hole to squeeze for a normal run. SIGH...

Another, unlikely possibility, is that some good news shock is pending and someone knew. It's very unlikely though that they'd be so obvious.

If I had to guess, I'd that spike is s-t bearish and marks the end of out corrective up. Stop is tighter now.
